Communities are the key.
Future proof your life and business.
Human connection makes us thrive. 🫶🏾
After the world went into “isolation” there was a shift in human connection and priorities. Those who wanted to work from home thrived, others missed the meeting culture and some just basically enjoyed the home time with their family. It doesn’t matter about that weird part of life now, what matters, is healthy, human connection with like minded people, who cheer for you, share your interests and actually want to be part of your “success”.
The same goes for you when you are in these communities, groups and organisations.

To build a successful community, you don't need 1,000 fans. You need 10 true regulars. This may contradict what most people imagine about communities — spaces with hundreds or thousands of people actively contributing and forming relationships where everyone is engaged and involved. In reality, only a small percentage of your members will actively participate but it's the right few that really matter.
This goes for both online and in person.
When new members join your community and see dozens of new posts and hundreds of new comments every week, they won't know if all that activity is coming from ten people or 100 people. Getting to ten true regulars is not easy but you can start with three. Reach out to those three people you already know who are interested in the same topic as your community and invite them to join your small group. Have conversations, discuss interesting articles, share learnings and be yourselves – be weird, make jokes and have fun! 😝

As the group grows, be selective when inviting more people as you don't want to smother the flame. Once you have 3 true regulars – reward them, make them feel special, hang out with on Zoom 1on1 or meet them in-person – give them whatever they need so they can continue being a role model in your community. These three regular members act as the beating heart of the group – their energy permeates the entire group and keeps it alive. Encouraging these members to stay active is key to building a successful community! ⭐️

Once you have a solid core of members, you can start to focus on expanding your community. Reach out to people who share similar interests, connecting with them in meaningful ways and providing them with resources they need. You can also use social media platforms, such as Twitter and Instagram, to spread the word about your group. Finally, use content creation to showcase the unique personalities and conversations that are happening in your group – this will help demonstrate what makes it special and why people should join.
